March went fast. The month started with a trip to Expo West, the best work conference on planet earth for consumer brand junkies like me, and my birthday! which we celebrated by going to dinner at one of my favorite spots, followed by a live comedy show at our local joint. Then came a few weekends of adapting to being a toddler mom, trying to figure out adventures to keep Charlie occupied, while also trying to be a great friend and be there for my people, whilst also fitting in errands on my end like: needing to upgrade my phone (oops, it literally stopped working), get a new prescription for my eye glasses (oops, I lost my glasses and then was in a pinch!), and get our taxes done (thank goodness for our accountant). One things still remains true of March in the Midwest ā it is unpredictable, we had highs in the high 70s, and multiple days of waking up to a snow-covered yard, plus a few nights wondering if our home was going to blow away in a tornado.
Despite all the whirlwind of March, I still made time to curate a list of some favs (hint: a life-changing book) and finds (hint: a life-changing app) for you to enjoy this month.
When Ronnie and I left our high-rise Chicago lifestyle for St. Charles, one of the things I was most excited about was all the money Iād save not going to Sweetgreen for a Harvest Bowl (*add avocado), every day. Simultaneously, I was devastated. After a few months, I knew I had only one choice: recreate my favorite salad. The salad is pretty straight forward, the challenge was how to re-create the dressing. Thankfully, my culinarily-inclined mother came to the rescue and we got damn close. For those of you in tears, because you too are moving away from your local Sweetgreen, and for those of you who simply want to recreate this masterpiece at home, I hope you enjoy!
