Recently, I’ve been feeling like my world has been turned upside down — not in a bad way, just in an upside down way. Perhaps the instant jolt into chaos of becoming a parent has something to do with it?

I recently got clearance from the doctor to move my body again, and so I booted up Ritual Hot Yoga virtual classes and gave myself the gift of lighting up a candle, and grounding down in my yoga practice. And while my body isn’t moving the same as it did before pregnancy, the benefits to my mind have never been better.

It got me to thinking… what other grounding rituals do I have to lean on during this time? A few that came to mind for me:

  1. Snuggling with Ronnie and taking three big, deep, breaths together

  2. Morning journaling with coffee (predictable, I know)

  3. Going for a walk

  4. Going for a joyride in my car with a great playlist

  5. Visiting Lake Michigan — just the sight of it is grounding

What grounding practices do you have? (Seriously, looking for recommendations, I need all I can get right now).
