Hostess with the Mostest

Our pool is opening tomorrow, I can’t believe it, another summer is upon us! Pool opening season = Ronnie and Stef hosting season, and I’m not going to lie, I’m freaking excited.

I’m ready for cozy morning coffees with my girlfriends by the pool, day drinking, in the pool, while blasting country tunes, golden-hour bonfires, pizza-making competitions for dinner, late night swims, falling asleep in the basement on the couch with all my friends around me.

My SIL, Claire is the hostess with the mostest, and inspired by her, I am sharing my recipe for making your guests feel like they’re VIPs staying at a 5 star resort when they come to visit you.

Ingredients (for hosting a couple for two nights):

  • Two glasses of Champagne (or non-alc alt) full to the brim for your guests arrival

  • One King Size Bed with four-to-six pillows, throw pillows and a coverlett included!

  • A basket (on top of the bed) with four towels, four washcloths, four bottles of water, four liquid IVs, and a bag of candy for each person (you’ll want to reach out in advance to find out what their favorite candy is)

  • Two bathrobes (option: with custom embroidery)

  • A candle, lighter, and essential toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion) in the accompanying bathroom

  • A fresh bag of coffee, and their favorite coffee mixers (you’ll want to reach out in advance to find out what their go-to coffee mixers are)

  • One blank card

  • Peppermint tea

Recipe:

  1. Two nights before your friends arrive, send them an email welcoming them to their resort experience:

    ”Dear Mr and Mrs Caldwell,

We are so excited to host you for the weekend at Camp Caldwell, located at {address}. Our resort is nestled in the heart of {town, city} a short drive, or walking distance to {name some cool stuff you love about your hometown}.

Upon arrival, you will (parking instructions, how to get to your front door, etc), you can leave your luggage in your vehicle as our Bell Boy will go ahead and retrieve your items and bring them to your King suite.

We have you checking in {Friday at 7PM}, with departure at your leisure on Sunday. Each morning, coffee service goes from 7AM-11AM, and can be taken from our dining room or by the pool.

We are sincerely eager to welcome you. Safe travels, and do call or text if you have any questions whatsoever.

    With love,
    Stefanie and Ronnie, Management”

  2. When your friends arrive, send your husband out to grab their luggage from the car :) and serve them freshly poured glasses of Champagne as you take them for a tour of your home and show them their King suite.

  3. Ensure that their bed is made, and on the bed, have their basket-of-goodies on display, let them know they are welcome to any of the items in the basket.

  4. Ensure each night before bed you have the coffee pre-made and ready to go, so if they get up before you, they can sashay down from their bedroom and help themselves to coffee in the dining room or by the pool.

  5. Last but not least, enjoy a wonderful weekend with your friends, feeling great that you’ve created an incredibly welcoming experience for some of the best, most important people in your life <3
