Shark Bite Sammies

Why I call these Shark Bite Sammies?

Ronnie, ever the fisherman, has made it his life mission to get me into fishing too. While I don’t indulge often, I can’t resist a deep sea fishing day, or a boating day with friends. During the many 8 hour fishing charters we’ve taken, these “Shark Bite” Sammies have become our go-tos. They’re simple, crowd-pleasing, and are so so easy for on-the-go fishing mornings when your “Call time” is before sunrise. Enjoy these any day you have to feed a group of 4 or so people who will be hungry at different times and whom you want to have yummy belly-fill with minimal effort. Oh - and I can almost guarantee the fish will bite if you bring these with you fishing.

What You’ll Need

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12-count, kept connected)

  • ~12 slices deli turkey

  • ~12 slices deli ham

  • ~10 slices sharp cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup mayo

  • ¼ cup yellow mustard

How to Make

  • Slice your Rolls

    • Without separating them, slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally so you have one top and one bottom layer.

  • Build the Layers

    • Spread the mayo and mustard evenly across the bottom layer of rolls. Layer in this order: Turkey (folded slightly for height), Ham, Cheddar, covering edge to edge. Place the top half of the rolls back on.

  • Ready to pull and eat!!!

    • Pull along the roll seams and eat as you feel snacky.
