June 2025
June In Review
June was… a whirlwind! It included a brunch date with Helena, Father’s Day goodness with Ronnie, multiple weekend playdates with Charlie’s friends Kyla, Leah, and Ella at our backyard pool, closing on our new house, and getting our current house ready to hit the market, on the market, and under contract…! It also included a multi-day visit from Tasha, plus I had the pleasure of taking a quick trip to the west coast for work and even managed to sneak in dinner with another bestie, Lauren, while I was out there. I can’t believe how much fit into this month. What a full life!
My belly is now huge, I tell Ronnie daily that I am in full blown “turtle-mode” at this point. God forbid I am laying on my back and there’s a loud noise from another room, I have rock side to side until I gain enough momentum to pop up. Being pregnant is such a joy :)
The biggest news of June, is we closed on our new house!!! AHHH!!! If you’ve followed along, you know this has been a BIG and EMOTIONAL decision for the two of us. I channeled that into one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever written, What Really Makes A Home?
In July, I am really excited to be taking over our new house and decorating it to my heart’s content! I’ve got my dream office coming together, an aesthetic picked out for my guest bathroom, we’ve got Charlie moving up to a big girl bed, and baby #2’s art came in to inspire her nursery! We’re in the final stretches before baby #2 graces us with her presence, so I am trying to really soak up all the goodness of the summer with Charlie girl before her arrival. What are you looking forward to in July?
Alright, onto the good stuff.
Favs From the Month
Fav Book: Shockingly, I did not devour a new book this month. I did attempt to read my first fiction book in who-knows-how-long on my Kindle, namely The Guest List a Reese Witherspoon Bookclub pick, and it’s not that I don’t like it… I do. It’s simply that I find fiction incredibly different to read than non-fiction, and I am very, very, out of practice.
Fav Podcast Episodes: I’ve been enjoying my weekly dose of House of Maher. Ilona Maher, the famous women’s Rugby player, and her two sisters teamed up to bring us Giggly Squad meets dinner at your mom’s house. So far, I am loving getting to know the Maher sisters through this content. I feel like they’re super grounded, raised as independent thinkers, and clearly were given a fantastic foundation by their parents. They seem to have strong moral compasses, and want to their strength, warmth, and laughter with the world through this podcast. I’d definitely recommend it for your weekly lineup.
Fav Show: I am watching Sex And The City on Netflix front to back starting with Season 1 and Episode 1. Is it just me, or is there something incredibly sexy about this era of TV? The late 90s, cell phones hardly existed, there was no such thing as Uber, Google was not yet a verb, even though I was quite young during the late 90s, I feel like the vision I had for what my twenties and thirties would be like was very much defined by the characters on Sex And The City and Friends. I love that episodes are only 30 minutes, and so when I inevitably fall asleep mid-sode, I can pick up the next night exactly where I left off. It’s been fun revisiting these characters and plot lines as an adult.
Fav Recipes: June was a wonderful month in the kitchen and on the grill (though that’s Ronnie’s domain!), I made my Salmon, Banana Bread, Elotes, Lemon Ricotta Pasta with English Peas, and Chilled Beet Soup. Strike that — I think I made my Elotes 10x because there’s nothing better than grilled chicken tacos and a side of elotes. Since Ronnie has been rocking the grill, and I’ve been rocking Charlie-pool-duty while he whips up dinner, this has been my core contribution to our plates this month.
Finds
This Sacheu Lip Stain / Peel has become my new personality trait. I wear it daily in the color SINamon and I’ve told at least 100 of you in real life that you need to give it a try. I LOVE that I can do a stain in the morning and have a lip stay on pretty much until after lunch. My hair doesn’t get caught in a messy gloss or lipstick. I simply stain, peel, chapstick, and go. Also, this color is gorg, and if you don’t believe me, here… I took a pic while writing this to prove it to you.
These Joyride Watermelon Wedges have been living rent free in my head and home since I discovered them on my trip home from LA.
Last but not least, I am drinking Kroma Magnesium Hydration water every night before bed right now to help with inevitable pregnancy charlie-horses. Ronnie is as obsessed with our nightly “cocktail” as I am.
From my iPhone
Here are a few of my fav photos from my camera roll this month… Charlie with chocolate all over her face is probably my top pick :)
